Stain Glass Religion - n. relij'on. [L. religio, from religo, to bind anew; re and ligo, to bind. This word seems originally to have signified an oath or vow to the gods, or the obligation of such an oath or vow, which was held very sacred by the Romans.] (Webster’s 1828 Dictionary) Stain Glass

Stain Glass "The one and true Church is the community of men brought together by the profession of the same Christian faith and conjoined in the communion of the same sacraments, under the government of the legitimate pastors and especially the one vicar of Christ on earth, the Roman pontiff."
(Cardinal Robert Bellarmine - Roman Catholic)

Stain Glass As a visible society, the Catholic Church is unique. Other Christian churches possess some of the same basic characteristics in common with it, such as the gifts of "one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all". But as Vatican II points out, "Since these are gifts belonging to the Church of Christ, they are forces impelling towards Catholic unity" (The Church, 8). Vatican II states that "this Church, constituted and organized as a society in the present world, subsists in the Catholic Church…" (The Church, 8). This key statement teaches that the basic fullness of the Church, the vital source of complete Christian unity in the future, is found in the visible Catholic Church.

Stain Glass So that's the "basics" of the Roman Catholic "Religion". The Roman Catholic Church says that they are the "Church of Christ" and the only Church in which one can be united with Christ in the future.

However, the "Word of God" says otherwise. Because the "Word of God" says that this Roman Catholic Church, who claims "the Pope" to be the "Vicar of Christ on earth", is none other than the "Mother of harlots and abominations of the earth"!!!

Stain Glass "...and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration." (Revelation 17:3-6 KJV) Stain Glass

Stain Glass So, without a doubt, the "religion" of the Roman Catholic Church is "bad" because it worships another god other than the One true God of Jesus Christ!

And now that we’ve come to grips with the "bad" kind of "religion", let’s get down to the "basics" with the "good" kind. Because in order to worship the One true God of Jesus Christ we must obey Him and Him only:

Stain Glass "If ye love me [Jesus], keep my commandments."
(John 14:15 KJV)

"He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me [Jesus]: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him." (John 14:21 KJV)

Stain Glass "...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."
(Matthew 22:37-40 KJV)

"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." (James 1:27 KJV)

Stain Glass "He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serve me [Jesus], let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour."
(John 12:25-26 KJV)

"And they overcame him [Satan] by the blood of the Lamb [Jesus], and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."
(Revelation 12:11 KJV)
