What's It Gonna Be?

The Glory Of Heaven                     The Terrors Of Hell

"Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee... the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee." (Isaiah 14:9-11)

"For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall... the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh." (Isaiah 66:22-24)

"And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched." (Mark 9:47-48)

Hell... Who's Gonna Be There?

So how many of you really believe these maggots and fire exist? And how many of you believe both await all who die without Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior? Well I certainly hope that you do! Because without a doubt there are bunches who (even though they don't believe it) will experience the indescribable maggots and fire of Hell for all eternity.

You see the truth of the matter is that we all have a very short lifetime to make the right choice. And thanks be to Jesus that at least a few of us act on it before it's too late. In fact just recently I've had the pleasure of hearing the testimony of a 76 year old converted atheist. This man was a medical doctor who managed to live most of his life without the help of Jesus. But the longer he lived, and the closer he came to dying, the more he started thinking about what it was going to be like on the other side.

Then on December 7, 1996, at ripe old age of 73, "Doc" just happened to be flipping the dial on his radio when he ran across the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries SonLife Radio station. And seeing how old "Doc" hated the ground that Jimmy Swaggart walked on, it was a miracle within itself that he actually listened long enough to hear Jimmy say "While we were yet in our sins Christ died for us."

So that's what Jimmy said, and that's all that he needed to say. Because you see at that moment in time old "Doc" decided that even though he might have lived 73 years without Jesus he certainly couldn't die without Him!

So "Doc" made the right choice, but how much longer do you have to make yours? Will your next life be consumed with the indescribable maggots and fires of Hell (The Terrors Of Hell) or the glorious wonders of Heaven (The Glory Of Heaven)? Well why not accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior right now?

There Is Only One Way To Heaven:

Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6)

You Just Ain't Good Enough Without Jesus:

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

So Why Not Admit That You're a Sinner:

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23)

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Romans 5:12)

"If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." (1 John 1:10)

And Give Up On Sin:

Jesus said: "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:5)

"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:" (Acts 17:30)

By Trusting In Jesus:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)

And Asking Jesus Into Your Heart:

"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:10)

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)

And Praying This Very Simple Little Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, I know that I'm a sinner and I definitely don't want those maggots and fires of Hell consuming me for all eternity. I need Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn away from sin. So please Lord Jesus come into my heart and lead me on in my lifelong journey to Heaven.

So If You Prayed That Prayer, And Really Really Meant It, Then You Are Now A Child Of God:

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (John 1:12)

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

And As A Child Of God You Will Want To Please Father God By:

#1. Reading your Bible every day:

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15)

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (Psalms 119:105)

#2. Talking to God in prayer every day:

"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." (Matthew 21:22)

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." (Philippians 4:6)

#3. Getting baptized in the Holy Spirit... and worshipping, fellowshipping, and serving with other believers in a church where not only Christ is preached but the Holy Bible is considered the Word of God:

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" (Matthew 28:19)

"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." (Hebrews 10:25)

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" (2 Timothy 3:16)

#4. Telling others about Christ:

"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15)

"For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!" (1 Corinthians 9:16)

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)
