The following letter-form was brought about as a means of teaching my children the Word of God through the mail. And of course, quite naturally so, that’s the reason I begin these letters with "Dear Children" and end them with "Love Dad". So for the rest of you who participate in these weekly messages, please keep their original intended purpose in mind.

25 January, 2004

Dear Children,

What a wild and crazy journey this has been...and it's only just getting started! I mean never in my wildest dreams would I ever have imagined back in 1984 that by me just saying "yes to Jesus" - accepting Him as the Lord and Saviour of my life - I would be doing all the radical "off the wall" sort of things that I'm doing today...and all "in the Name of Jesus" (see sermonet A Christian Marriage Outside The Law! (12/28/03)). And having said that we'll just continue right along with part III of our series "Homeless For Jesus" with this week's sermonet "The Demons Of Cristo Rey And El Paso, Texas!" And for those of you who might not speak Spanish, the sermonet title is all about the demons who hide behind the statue of King Jesus (the Christ) that's on top of the mountain overlooking the city of El Paso, Texas, who likewise receive all the worship that's given to it.

Cristo Rey

Cristo Rey

Now just in case you might have already forgotten, it was back on the 22nd of April, 2001, ten (10) years and three (3) days after having obeyed the Father by incorporating the FMH Children's Club International, that our motto of "All For The Love Of Jesus" took on a whole new meaning. Because it was on that day, during church service at Christ Living Word Ministries, that I was not only "anointed for service" by the evangelist, but I was also given a very powerful prophetic command to "take off my shirt and tie, put on my blue jeans and T-shirts, because the FMHCCI ministry was getting ready to blast off!" (See A prophetic Word concerning The FMHCCI Ministries.)

So, based on that prophetic word, just how do you figure our ministry finally "blasted off"? Well little did I know but the "blue jeans and T-shirts" would be my new "dress code" as a "homeless person"...because on the 20th of May, 2002, I officially became "homeless for Jesus" with only blue jeans and T-shirts in hand! (See sermonet Charles Nieman's 'Abundant Living Faith' Is Dead! (7/27/03) for more details.) And you see it was during this very uncomfortable time of my life - being homeless for Jesus - that the Father prepared me for the "spiritual warfare" that our ministry has been called to fight by letting me "get to know" the Devil and his demons like never before!

Because you see it was during my seven (7) month stay at the Rescue Mission of El Paso, that, in my position as assistant chaplain, I not only had a first-hand opportunity to see Satan working behind the scenes of this so-called "Christian mission", but I was also able to understand, in a very real way, what can happen to a Roman Catholic believer who likewise worships the idols of the Roman Catholic Church and becomes possessed by a demon!

Possessed By A Demon

So are you ready for this one? Well believe it or not but the real-life character of this real-life story is a man by the name of Elijah who had a lovely wife (Maria) and three adorable children. The first day I met Elijah was the day he came into the Rescue Mission after the bottom had dropped out of his life. He no longer had a place to call home, and his wife was on the run (AWOL: left home without permission). And seeing how the "powers to be" had temporarily put "Elijah and kids" in the chapel until more room was available, I had the awesome opportunity of getting to know Elijah first hand.

Now, as it turned out, Maria came back to Elijah and the six (6) of us became real good friends. In fact our "friendship" was actually a whole lot more because I had been called by God to disciple Elijah as a Brother in Christ.

Well as time went on I was privileged to hear the story of these two childhood sweethearts - Elijah and Maria - who I so appropriately nicknamed "Bonnie and Clyde". And the very good reason that I did it was because of the fact that Maria and Elijah had lived a life full of drugs, alcohol, and mischievous deeds...in fact so much so that they were always just inches short of losing their lives! In other words, whatever evil they did in life they did it to the max; defying death by knowing when to stop.

Then came the day when Elijah felt the cold hand of death wrapping around his neck. He knew that he couldn't continue on with his evil lifestyle and still evade death. His time was short; he had to either change the way he lived or die. So just as most good Catholics are taught to do, Elijah went to church and fell down in front of a crucifix (Jesus on a cross) and prayed to it for deliverance.

Now it's important for you to understand that both Elijah and Maria were brought up in a town heavily influenced by the Roman Catholic Religion. In fact, so much like the city of El Paso, Elijah and Maria's hometown had a statue overlooking it too...however their's was one of the Virgin Mary. So, it was with all these idols in their lives that the one with "Jesus on the cross" finally did the deed. Because it was during Elijah's time of worship to the idol that the demon behind it just "all of the sudden" became a part of Elijah. In other words the demon spirits came into Elijah...and then all Hell really broke loose in his life!

Because from that point on Elijah became possessed by demons very much like the demoniac of Gergesenes (Matthew 8:28). And for the next nine months Elijah lived in the wilderness of New Mexico, feeding on the wild plants and animals, and on at least one occasion exercised the supernatural powers of his demons by single-handedly turning over a police car.

Well by the time Elijah's "demonic possession" was over and done with he found himself in clothes covered with blood and very-much-so glued to his body. Elijah was one more mess, but nothing in comparison to the mess he had been in for the previous nine months.

Now Elijah's story is just one more good example of what "a few very bad demons", who're hiding behind a religious statue that's being prayed to by a few religious people, can do. And getting back to the statue of King Jesus (Cristo Rey) that overlooks the city of El Paso, Texas, well...here's a few of the details on how it (along with it's demons) got to be where it is:

Mount Cristo Rey:

(As documented at http://austin.episd.org/quadcristorey.htm.)

A parish priest dreamed of a white cross on the top of a mountain and from this dream grew the monument of Cristo Rey, the largest of it's kind in North America. Father Lourdes F. Costa, pastor of the San Jose de Cristo Rey church in Smeltertown, northwest of El Paso, arose with the sun each morning and turned in the direction of the central peak outside his window. He always thought that was a perfect setting for a monument to Christ the King, the Prince of Peace.

The Pope called parishes throughout the world for spiritual or material monuments for the 19th Centennial of the Redemption, and Father Costa saw Cristo Rey as a "divine inspiration." With a few hundred of his parishioners, he began the main action of carving out a trail up the steep mountain to the highest point. They put in position a small wooden cross and prayed that a bigger monument might some day be made there.

Since this project was far beyond their means, Father Costa appealed to the most Rev. Anthony J. Schuler, then Bishop of El Paso and the only Jesuit bishop in the U.S. at that time. the Bishop immediately approved the idea and adopted Cristo Rey as a diocesan project. When several thousand dollars had been raised, Soler was engaged in 1937 to carve the statue.

Although the mountain geographically is in New Mexico, the base also lies in Texas and Old Mexico. The Cross of Cristo Rey is 33.5 feet high resting on a nine foot base with an overall height of 42.5 feet. The statue of Cristo Rey was chiseled out of Austin limestone, a product of the Texas Quarries. The sculptor was Urbici Soler, of international fame, who also helped construct the Christ of the Andes.

...The tremendous task was completed by 1939 and a local dedication was held on October 29 of that year, with hundreds of persons making the pilgrimage.

The next year on October 17, 1940, the international dedication took place under the supervision of the apostolic delegate. The dedicatory address to the Prince of Peace on the eve of the war was made by nationally Prominent Consignor Fulton J. Sheen, now a bishop. The pilgrims came barefooted, mothers carrying infants or leading toddling youngsters, men, women, and children, of many races, and of many stations in life. From the top of Mount Cristo Rey, the christus opens his arms as in benediction over two friendly nations. He looks upon a vista of fertile, irrigated fields, on sterile, rocky mountains, and on the busy cities of Juarez and El Paso, together, rather than divided by the Rio Grande river.

Among the names etched there today are those of the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Pope Pius XII.

Today, pilgrims come from far distances to devote at the feet of the heroic figure of Christ, which stands on the highest point of a mountain, 4,576 feet above sea level and 1,000 feet above the surrounding valleys and deserts. Pilgrims go up the mountain singing hymns and reciting the Rosary. Fourteen small crosses, or stations, along the trail represent the way of the cross.

Great Religious Whore

So did you catch the connection? Well the statue of Jesus on Mount Cristo Rey is all about the "great religious whore" the Roman Catholic Church. They have once again seduced the people into a false worship of demonic spirits through it's very own "Jesus made of stone" (idol)...and it's happening right here in the city of El Paso, Texas. And by going back to our sermonet "Charles Nieman's 'Abundant Living Faith' Is Dead!" we can now understand just a little bit better why the Good Lord said that El Paso, Texas, is the "seat of Satan". El Paso, Texas, through the satanic power invested to the Roman Catholic Church, has become one of the major cities in the world for demon worship.

In fact in her book entitled "He Came To Set The Captives Free", Rebecca Brown, MD, list a few of the things that Roman Catholicism has put in place for the sole purpose of initiating demon worship by it's faithful followers. In her definition of "familiar objects" Rebecca Brown goes on to say: "These are objects to which demons cling. Anything used in the worship of Satan or in serving Satan is legal ground for demons. In other words the demons have a right to cling to or use such objects...Common familiar objects include: any occult object used in the practice of the occult arts, any Rock & Roll records, tapes, posters, T-shirts, etc., any material from occultic role-playing fantasy games, any artifacts of Eastern religions such as the little statues of gods people buy as souvenirs while traveling, any rosaries or objects used in the practice of Catholicism, any articles used in the practice of Masonry, any literature or tapes on the occult or pagan religions, and so on - the list is nearly endless. All such materials must be destroyed."

So, after having read that, can you now visualize this statue of Jesus with all the demons hiding behind it? Probably not! In fact what do you say I give you just one more real-life story to kinda like help you out.

Warn The People

Because, as I've been told, it was a few years back that a very devoted Christian lady, from way down south (Puerto Rico?), was commanded by her Heavenly Father to buy a plane ticket to El Paso, Texas. And even though she had no earthly idea why the Lord would want her to travel all the way to Texas, she faithfully obeyed by buying herself a ticket.

Then came the fateful day of her trip, and her arrival in El Paso. Still not knowing what her trip was all about, this devoted Christian lady sought the Almighty in prayer as to what she was to do next. Well the directions she received took her directly to Mount Cristo Rey and likewise a full view of it's statue of Jesus. Shocking! Because what the Father showed her in the "supernatural" was a "super highway of demons", to and from the statue of Jesus, as they received the prayers and worship of many religious folks in the area.

How horrible! What was she going to do? Well as directed by the Father this dedicated Christian lady appeared on El Paso Christian radio stations and petitioned their listeners to pray against the evil curse of Cristo Rey that's been put on the city of El Paso and it's surrounding area. She warned the people just as she was told to do, but do you think the statue got destroyed? Did the El Paso Believers in Christ "rise up" and "tear down" this evil statue of Jesus that damns so many souls to Hell?

I don't think so! I mean how could a Christian in their "right mind" even think about tearing down a big stone statue of Jesus? What would the church say? Well the Word of God is pretty complete when it comes to the consequences promised for all those who fall down and worship a big stone statue of Jesus:

Thou Shalt Not

Exodus 20:4-5 - "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation] of them that hate me."

So did you catch the point of that one little old "thou shalt not"? It's what's commonly known as "the wrath of God", and I don't know about you but I for one don't want to be the recipient of it. However, that is what the Almighty God has promised for all those who fall down and worship the great stone statue of Jesus on Mount Cristo Rey in El Paso, Texas...and there's a whole bunch of Christ-professing Christians who're actually doing it.

And just in case that Scripture wasn't specific enough for you, how about this one from Leviticus 26:1 - "Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up [any] image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I [am] the LORD your God."

Now when it comes down to the fact that Christians in El Paso, Texas, are bowing down to the great stone statue of Jesus, that's been put in place by the heathen religion of Roman Catholicism, the truths of Exodus 23:23-25 should become self-evident:

Cursed

"For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Cananites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off. Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images. And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee."

Well did you catch the truth of God's "promised blessings" for all those who refuse to allow idol worship to take place in their city? Of course it only makes good sense that the reverse of this blessing - a curse - is God's Divine Judgement for all those who do the exact opposite! And, just in case you didn't know it, the city of El Paso has very high food prices, very little water (it's drying up), and very sickly people. The "curses" predicted for all those bowing down to the "great stone statue of Jesus" has become a reality in El Paso, Texas. I mean how much clearer could it be(?):

Break The Image

"Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee: But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images (statues), and cut down their groves: For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, [is] a jealous God:" (Exodus 34:12-14 )

So, has the Word of God thoroughly convinced you that there are very evil powers working behind the "great stone statue of Jesus" on Mount Cristo Rey? Have I been able to thoroughly convince you that the Roman Catholic Church has prostituted itself and the city of El Paso, Texas, in demon worship through this idol...and the only way to correct the problem is to have it destroyed?

I mean, seeing how the statue of Cristo Rey has been in place for well over sixty (60) years now, I can personally guarantee that it ain't gonna be any too easy to convince the local folks that it never should have been there in the first place. The Roman Catholic Church has done a very nice job in getting folks "hooked" on demon worship! After all, it's only because of the Roman Catholic Church that so many folk have been duped into worshipping the stone statues of the saints anyway. Because by looking back at the past we can see how this radical change away from God's Word of "Thou Shalt Not" has been slowly but surely put in place by the Roman Catholic Religious System (the great religious whore):

Council Of Trent - Thou Shalt

"The first Christians were not adverse to art, but they had no images of Christ. From 100-400 A.D. Christian leaders rebuked various ones for seeking to introduce images of Christ and saints into their worship...After 850 A.D. the cult of image worship in churches began to grow due to arguments for images and stories of miracles performed through them. Blessings were claimed for the images themselves and finally in 1188 it was declared that denial of images was a denial of God. In 1225 it was said that Christ was not Christ unless He was graven. Even Thomas Aquinas (1265) declared that an image of Christ claims the same veneration as Christ Himself. The 25th session of the Council of Trent (1551-1552) justified the worship of images. Thus, from the beginning until now the controversy has raged, and the image worship has been accepted by many as authorized by God. The fact remains though, that the Bible is against all uses of images in worship." (Quoted from Dake's Annotated Reference Bible.)

You see this thing called the "Council of Trent" that "justified the worship of images" is nothing less than the Roman Catholic Church "playing God"! The big shots in Roman Catholicism all get together at their "Council of Trent" and either "add-to" or "take-away" from the Word of God as they see fit. They actually try to usurp God's authority by rewiting the Word of God...but I'm here to tell you that it just ain't a gonna work:

God Is Still God

Psalm 96:4-5 - "For the LORD [is] great, and greatly to be praised: he [is] to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations [are] idols: but the LORD made the heavens."

I mean regardless of what the Roman Catholic Church might say, the fact still remains that God Almighty is still God! And He says that whenever a person or group of people pray long enough and hard enough to a lifeless statue (idol), strange things will start to happen through that same statue (idol), and it's definitely not because of the Power of God working through it!

In fact in his book "Biblical Demonology" Merrill F. Unger writes the following concerning Psalm 96:5 and the original Hebrew word "'ellim" that the word "idols" was translated from: "This is the classic passage identifying demons with idols, and suggesting demonism as the dynamic of idolatry. Hebrew 'ellim, the plural of the adjective meaning 'of naught, empty, vain' shows plainly the idols are 'mere nothing' non-realities. The demons behind them are the real existences."

So you see even though the Catholic Church might profess that images are only tools to "honor Jesus, His mother, and the saints", the resulting supernatural manifestations that actually take place through these same statues (idols) are not through the Power of God Almighty! It's what's commonly called "demon worship" - promoted by the Roman Catholic Church I might add - and the resulting signs and wonders that follow are only made possible through the demonic spirits empowered by the worship of people.

Demon Worship #101

In fact the very simple yet deadly worship of "demonic spirits" all takes place in four (4) easy steps...just as the Roman Catholic Religion has made possible through the statue of Jesus Christ on Mount Cristo Rey:

#1. Design and build the statue (image/idol).

#2. Venerate, worship, or bow-down to the statue (image/idol).

#3. Petition the "one" whom the statue (image/idol) represents.

#4. Make contact with the demonic spirit that's disguising itself as the "one" who the statue (image/idol) is modeled after. The demonic spirit's "control" over the devoted worshipper takes a firm hold during this forth step of idol worship.

And having said all that concerning the Roman Catholic Church, what do you say we check out what the Word of God has to say about it (the Roman Catholic Church):

They Sacrificed Unto Devils

"They provoked him to jealousy with strange [gods], with abominations provoked they him to anger. They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new [gods that] came newly up, whom your fathers feared not." (Deuteronomy 32:16-17)

Now ain't it just amazing how the Roman Catholic Church has gotten away with the "promotion and implementation" of "demon worship" for so long? I mean there ain't no doubt that what they've done, and are still doing, is evil with a capital "E". And just in case you didn't catch it, the word "evil" is the opposite (reverse) of "live" which just so happens to be "death"...and that's exactly what happens to all those who worship the idols of the Roman Catholic Church!

In fact in his book "Biblical Demonology", Merrill F. Unger goes on to show that even the ancient Hebrews acknowledged the demonic power behind these idols/statues/images. Because, according to Mr. Unger, when you go back to the Hebrew word that was translated "devils/demons" you find the following:

"The underlying significance [of the word] is no doubt 'idols,' properly, 'lords,' since the Hebrews very early regarded idolatrous images as mere visible symbols of invisible demons, who let themselves be worshiped by men (Ps 96:5; LXX 95:5;...1 Cor. 10:20). Therefore, in the Song of Moses, the Israelites who lapsed into idolatry are said to have 'sacrificed unto demons (shedhim), which were not God (or gods), to gods that they knew not' (Deut. 32:17). It is clear that the shedhim [demons] are not only identified with idolatrous images, who are denied all reality of gods, but at the same time are separated from them, as being real spiritual existences behind them, energizing their worship. The same double aspect is to be noted in the passage in the Psalms, where, falling again into idolatry, the Israelites are said to have 'sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto demons (daimonia, Shedhim)...unto the idols of Canaan' (Ps. 106:7-38). The 'idols of Canaan' are the inanimate idolatrous representatives, the visible means of deception. The 'demon' (shedhim) are the real spiritual entities inspiring the perverted worship."

So did you catch that? It's actually the "invisible demonic spirits" (demons) behind the statues/idols/images that inspire or "draw" the worshippers to it. It's called "witchcraft at it's best!" And, once again, when you take this concept back to the statue of Jesus Christ atop Mount Cristo Rey in El Paso, Texas, then it shouldn't be any too hard to understand why The Almighty God considers El Paso to be one of the "seats of Satan"!

Satanist Also Bow Down

And while we're on the subject of Satan and his idols, this is as good a time as any to bring up another real-life story as it relates to our discussion on the "demons of Cristo Rey". Because it was on the 4th Sunday of October (the 26th), 2003, that Sandy ("Mom") and I attended a small Hispanic "Spirit-filled church" here in El Paso, Texas, and likewise got blessed. I mean, without a doubt, the Holy Spirit moved in a very powerful way during that very anointed service! However, along with needing to "get touched" by the Holy Spirit, there was another real good reason that the Lord had us to attend that particular church on that particular Sunday. You see the guest speaker just so happened to be an ex-Satanist who had the inside story of the "demonic powers behind Mount Cristo Rey".

I mean seeing how this Brother had turned his back on Satan and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour, it was only because of his vast inside knowledge of The Brotherhood (Satan's social club) that he could expose many of their deep dark secrets. And, due to the fact that it was only a few days before Halloween when his message was given, the Lord used him that Sunday to warn the Church of the many evil deeds that the Satanist carry-out against Christians during this particular time of year.

Now a very interesting part of the Brother's talk included a few facts about Mount Cristo Rey. Because, oddly enough, the annual trek up the side of Mount Cristo Rey by all of it's devoted worshippers (see news article at http://www.borderlandnews.com/stories/living/20021025-35980.shtml) also falls on the 4th Sunday of October...the last Sunday before Halloween! And little do these so-called "worshippers of Christ" know it but the Satanist also use Mount Cristo Rey as a place to worship during this very special time of the year in order to receive demonic powers.

I mean, without a doubt, Mount Cristo Rey is full of demons receiving the worship of the masses through idol worship. In fact check out some of the disgusting photos of this "church sanctioned" - Roman Catholic, Protestant, and Satanist - annual event at http://www.nuzgeeks.com/patricio/album/cristorey.htm. Not only will you see pictures of the "Jesus statue" at this Web Site, but you'll also see a shrine for "Mary Worship" along with an American Indian calling down the demonic spirits of his ungodly religion. What a great place to receive a demonic spirit!

So now do you understand what I mean by "The Demons Of Cristo Rey And El Paso, Texas!"? The Lord is heart-broken over this "Jesus statue" that's being used in such a deadly manner to entice Roman Catholics, Christians, and Satanist to worship demonic spirits. Because the Truth of the matter is that "idolaters...shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (See Who's Gonna Be In Hell?)

Revelation 21:6-8 - "And he [Jesus] said unto me, It is done. I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

In closing, let me just say that, without a doubt, it sure is tough fighting "demonic spirits" when you can't even see what you're fighting. I mean other than the Satanist, just how many of these Cristo Rey worshippers do you really figure we'll be able to convince of the fact that they're actually worshipping demons? What a shame! If they would only believe the Word of God:

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord [Jesus], and in the power of his might [the Holy Spirit]. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]." (Ephesians 6:10-12)

Oh well, what more can I say? How about "Keep on keeping The Faith In Jesus"...and not a statue/idol/image of Him!!!

Love,

Dad (Bruce Hallman)
