The following letter-form was brought about as a means of teaching my children the Word of God through the mail. And of course, quite naturally so, that’s the reason I begin these letters with "Dear Children" and end them with "Love Dad". So for the rest of you who participate in these weekly messages, please keep their original intended purpose in mind.

24 January, 1999

Dear Children,

Is it my turn yet? Yup, you’d better believe it is!!! And what an exciting time it’s going to be today... in the Lord. I mean after all, it has been two full weeks since I’ve had the opportunity to say what the Lord has put on my heart to say, and I’m just about ready to explode.

Because it was somewhere around a week and a half ago that I started reading Mr. Rich DeVos’ (co-founder of Amway) book Compassionate Capitalism. And likewise, just as I had promised his son Dick DeVos (who was so very kind to send me the book in the first place), with the Lord’s help we will make a few wholesome and constructive comments on what I’ve read. So you see for this week’s sermonet we’re kinda like gonna give a full blown book report... and I can promise you that’s it’s going to be exciting... because the following book report was not written by just me but by the Lord and me. So hang on tight because this one’s a gonna be a real barn burner!!!

Now just in case you might have forgotten by now, we are continuing on with our seemingly never ending series on The President, The People, And The Religion. And it was only in last week’s message Foundations of The Faith (as prepared by Brother Roger Andrews) that we read in his opening Scripture of Matthew 7:21, "Not every one that saith unto me Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

So that was the way the message started out and this is the way the message ended: "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." (II Timothy 3:16-17)

And if you put the two together (the beginning and the ending) you’ll get to the bottom line root cause of why we’re writing this long running series on The President, The People, And The Religion (How Did We Get In This Mess In The First Place?). You see there are a whole lotta folks in this once great nation of ours (United States of America) who think they have the God of the Universe as their Heavenly Father (once saved, always saved) but in reality they don’t. And of course the main reason why they don’t is because they haven’t been taught the truth (lying prophets and apostate religions). And the reason they haven’t been taught the truth is because of the fact that most preachers ain’t preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ as "thus saith the Lord"... and the results are going to be that a whole lotta people are going to end up in Hell!

Now I know that this is not one of those popular topics for discussion, but this messed up and perverted preaching of the gospel is fast becoming the American Way. And it’s truly amazing how this happens so very often in these letters, but having said what we have just said we come right back to the subject at hand of Amway. Because it seems as though that’s where they got their name in the first place (Americanway)... and based on what I see with this nation’s present day problems I can honestly say that the name fits them very well. Amway has adopted the American Way that we have been discussing for several weeks now (How Did We Get In This Mess In The First Place?) and likewise it’s this Americam Way that’s taking this nation straight on to Hell in a handbasket!!!

So where in the round world did we ever get that expression in the first place ("to Hell in a handbasket")? Well anyway, before we really get "all fired up" on this subject of Amway, let’s go back in time to the sermonet for May the 4th, 1997. And for the sake of all you new folks, reading just a small portion of that particular sermonet, it all started off like this: "It was the middle of February (the 16th to be exact) that I wrote the message ‘I have a dream’. And in that sermonet I made a very bold statement that through the grace and power of God Almighty the FMH Children’s Club International would go into every nation throughout the world. And I also made the statement that it would take hundreds of thousands of dollars (millions even) to make it happen.

Money

Now for those of you who don’t know it already, the FMH Children’s Club is near and dear to my heart; in fact it takes up the majority of my spare time away from work. And it’s so very important to me because I feel it’s the will of God that we carry on this ministries, and do it not for our glory but ‘All For The Love Of Jesus’. And of course in my mind the most difficult part of making this dream happen is coming up with the enormous amount of money needed. But no matter how impossible it might seem, I do know that it will happen, because the Word of God say’s so; ‘all things are possible to him that believeth’. It will come into existence because we believe.

Now at the time I wrote that message I felt God was leading us (the Children’s Club) into a business that would not only bring in the cash needed but also take us into other countries of the world. This business was already established (setup) in more than seventy (70) countries and territories. What an opportunity for the Children’s Club!

So we signed up, we joined the business, with hopes of earning this much needed money to serve God the Father; to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the World. And it was only very shortly thereafter that we found out there was a problem with our new business leaders, and a very serious one at that. You see we were in the business to serve God Almighty but they were in the business to serve Satan! We had joined Amway as a tool to serve the Lord but we soon found out this business was full of snakes; the withering slimy poisonous serpents of Satan. What a mess! What are we going to do now?

The answer to that question (what are we going to do now?) is to pray and look for God’s will. God wanted us to join Amway but right now I’m not totally sure why. You see God doesn’t always tell us what are His plans for tomorrow, but His Word will instruct us as to what we are to do today. And that’s exactly why we write these little sermonets; to show why it’s so important to follow the plan of God by following the Word of God and do it day by day. We have to walk through this life with the faith that He will guide us every step along the way. He won’t always tell us what’s around the next curve, on this very narrow and dangerous road of life, but He will guide us and lead us one step at a time.

Now I don’t know how many weeks this topic of Amway will last but I do know that this is what He wants us to write on today. And He not only wants us to write on it for the benefit of those of you who are on the mailing list, but also for the founders of Amway, Mr. Jay Van Andel and Mr. Rich DeVos. So may God give me the words (God’s words) to put in this message so that a few more souls might be saved from this lost and dying world."

OK, so it’s been something like two years since the FMH Children’s Club International got involved with Amway... and what you have just read was what we wrote on May the 4th, 1997... because we had found out in no uncertain terms just what Amway was all about. We found out the truth and then the Lord started giving us His messages from the Word of God to give to them. That’s the way it all happened. God got us into that great big old Amway Corporation so that we could see what was going on inside of it, and then the Lord gave us a few choice things to say about the "Amway corruption" that we saw. But looking back in time, it seems as though what we said in that sermonet series on Amway almost two years ago wasn’t quite strong enough. Because you see they are still just a chugging away with their very own man made religion (the religion of Amway) and taking a whole bunch of folks with them... right on into the burning flames of Hell.

And seeing how this problem of the American Way (the U S of A) and Amway just so happens to be dealing with religion, what better opportunity than now to reflect on some present day Words from The Father as found in the Words Of The Spirit: "I speak unto thee this day concerning, dead matter, for I say that I desire a living people and I say because I am the living God I desire a living people. I say I do not desire that my people would feed off of dead matter, for I would say that dead matter shall only bring forth death, and I say that those who shall eat of the same, shall not live, but they shall die. For I would say unto thee that when men shall eat of that which is death, I say they have no alternative but to die. For I say what a man shall eat of, I say that is what he shall become. And I say when men will continually eat of dead matter, I say they are dead or they are dying. I speak to thee this day and I say because I am the Living God, I desire that you would eat of me, I say I desire that you would dwell in my Spirit and eat of my word that you could live...

When men will violate the standard and violate the tenets, I say they will receive the repercussions for I say those things shall return into their bosoms. I say so it is when men will declare that they are mine will eat the matter that is dead, I say they will be dying, I say they will be dead for I say when they will eat of those things, I say they will bring forth death. And though they may say with their lips that they are mine, I say if their hearts are far from me, and I say if they eat of those things which bring them unto death, I say they will die nevertheless. For I say that the ones who shall live in me are the ones who shall eat of me, and eat of the substance that I give them...

I would speak unto thee and say, beware of the gods of the generation in which ye are, for I say they are many, I say they are aplenty, all about thee. And I say that many are bowing unto them all the day long for I say they have swollen themselves up, and I say that they eat souls and I say that they make men think that they cannot live without them. But I say they are deceptive, I say they are liars, I say they are sent to destroy. Throughout the land, there are many false gods, I say they raise themselves up, and all tremble at their power, but I say their power can be put down quickly and be put under foot by the man who knows who I am and who will declare my truth in boldness and declare my righteousness and will live in my standard. I would say to thee this day, do not be caught up in the gods of men, I say do not be caught up in the false gods that are throughout the land, but I say be caught up in me, the Living God. For I say when you are in me and when you eat of me and you partake of me, I say you continue to live and you continue to bring forth life. I say look to live and not die, I say look to dwell in the realm of eternal, I say look to be in my abode for therein shall you find peace, and therein shall ye find joy. Therein shall thy hope spring up, for I say unto thee that when you are in me, there is continually hope. But I say when you are in death, there is no hope, there is only despair, destruction, and darkness. I say to thee that the false gods will snare men in for they will present a false image of what a man can become if he will but bow down to them. But I say in the end, the man has not become those things but I say he becomes depressed and he is ensnared and I say he is taken in evil, and I say he is greatly distressed and he faces destruction. I say that the end of all false gods is death, I say it cannot be life, for I say unto thee that in worship of false gods, there is nothing but death that will come forth. For I would say unto thee that the false gods can only give death because that is what they are."

Wow!!! So what do you think about that one? Well that’s what God the Father thinks about the religions of man (dead rotting food for the soul) and Amway just so happens to be one more of them. And what we have just said is only in preparation for the rest of what we are going to say. Because we are just about ready to head on off into that book report that I’ve been telling you about.

You see it was Friday morning a week ago, somewhere in a hotel room in California, as I was seeking the Lord’s direction in prayer, that He gave me what was to be the Scripture that would deal with The Sin Of Amway. And after many hours of prayer and study I’m ready to show you what "thus saith the Lord" for Amway. So reading from chapter 12 in the book of Luke, and starting with verse 1, "In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he (Jesus) began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy."

Now what we have just read is only the beginning of this very powerful message from the Lord. And if I do what I have been called to do with this message it will without a shadow of doubt expose The Sin Of Amway for all to see. And seeing how times a wasting, we’re going to stop "tip toeing through the tulips" and get down to the business at hand. And in order to help you understand what Jesus was saying when He said "Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy" let’s turn to and read from Matthew 16:1-19.

"And he (Jesus) sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala. The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed."

Now just for your information these Pharisees and Sadducees were like the Catholics, Baptist, or Methodist (or whatever religious flavor you might want to add) of our day, except for the fact that they were during the time of Jesus. And you see even though they did not believe in the same religious doctrines (Pharisees and Sadducees), there was one thing that they did agree on. And what they did agree on was that they couldn’t believe that this man called Jesus was the Son of God.

But continuing on with the story, "And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread. Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. And they reasoned themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread. Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees."

Now what do you suppose the word "doctrine" means? Well it means nothing more than what they believed in and what they taught. You see their doctrine was their religion and Jesus told His disciples to stay clear of it! And what was so dangerous about their beliefs? Well reading on we find: "When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

Now take note that some of those men who believed Jesus was only a prophet were of the religious group called the Pharisees and Sadducees... who Jesus had just warned His disciples to stay clear of. And even though Peter’s answer to Jesus’ question of "But whom say ye that I am?" was accurate, it was very short and to the point. So in order to get a little deeper understanding to Jesus’ question, let’s turn and read from Hebrews 1:1-14: "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire."

Jesus just a prophet? Not hardly, because, "But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thy hands: They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?"

So as I hope you can see through these Scriptures, Jesus was just a little bit more than a prophet... He was not only God but He still is God!!! That’s who He is but of course that’s not what the religion of the Pharisees and Sadducees believed. But getting back to the religion of Amway, just what do you suppose Mr. Rich DeVos believes?

Well in order to tie all this information back together with Amway, let’s check out what Mr. Rich DeVos has to say in his book Compassionate Capitalism. Reading from chapter 7 (What Is a Compassionate Capitalist and Why Should I Be One?) under the section Why Compassion Is So Rare, "Moses, the Hebrew leader and lawgiver, writing more than twelve centuries before Christ, described the problem clearly. According to his powerful, poetic vision of creation, the Creator gave Adam and Eve the freedom to choose between God and Satan. The Old Testament writers see life as warfare, not on a battlefield but in human minds and hearts between God’s call to obedience and Satan’s call to sin. The Bible’s ancient stories illustrate how easy it is to follow the promptings of evil toward self-centeredness, indifference, hatred, greed, lust, jealousy, and murder, and how difficult it is to hear the voice of God calling humankind to compassion."

Sounds pretty good don’t it? Who would ever guess the magnitude of evil lurking between the pages of this book called Compassionate Capitalism? I mean Mr. DeVos almost sounds like a dedicated Sunday school teacher. But let’s not be too hasty because reading on we find him saying, "Jesus, the young Jewish prophet whose life and teachings led to the foundation of Christianity, called his followers back to obedience and to compassion. ‘Love God,’ he said. ‘This is the first and great commandment. And love your neighbor as yourself.’ When Jesus described the final judgment, he made it clear that the righteous shall be rewarded for acting with compassion toward the hungry, thirsty, naked, sick, strangers, and people in prisons. ‘When you have done it unto one of the least of these,’ he said, ‘you have done it unto me.’"

And that my friend is the key to the deception within Amway: "Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy." Because continuing on we find Mr. DeVos saying, "Gautama Buddha, the Indian philosopher and founder of Buddhism, lived five centuries before Christ. Buddha abandoned a life of wealth and privilege to seek ‘enlightenment.’... Like Jesus, Buddha called for his followers to perform acts of compassion. While nursing to health one of his followers who had been neglected by the others, Buddha said, ‘He who attends on the sick attends on me....’"

And since we’re on a roll why stop now? Let’s add one more of Mr. DeVos’ Jesus to the list: "Confucius, a Chinese philosopher who also lived five centuries before Christ, taught his disciples that they should direct their lives by this one Golden Rule: Do not do unto others what you would not want others to do unto you!... Muhammad, the Arab religious leader and prophet in the seventh century after Christ, also saw human life as a struggle between good and evil. He taught his followers that one’s goal is to submit to the will of God in the war against evil... In the Koran, the prophet writes: ‘Man is by nature timid; when evil befalls him, he panics, but when good things come to him, he prevents them from reaching others.’ It is Satan who whispers, ‘Keep it.’ It is God who replies, ‘Give it to the poor.’ In exchange for ‘noble sacrifice’ God promises prosperity."

So after having made the comparison of prophet Jesus with all those other "prophets?" Mr. DeVos goes on to say, "Out of which great religious or philosophical tradition does the call of compassion come to you? I am called to compassion by my deep roots in the Christian faith... For those of us who honor the Judaeo-Christian tradition, both Old and New Testament writers call us to compassion... For the followers of Buddha, Confucius, and Muhammad, also called to compassion... Even if you are an atheist or an agnostic who doesn’t know if God exists, you have felt the pressure of living in... that ancient struggle... I believe that compassion is the only foundation on which we can build a business or rebuild the world’s shattered economies. If we are to find a way out of the current economic chaos, we must learn to love this planet and its people as they have never been loved before. Liberty and love are inseparable concepts... Jesus said: ‘Greater love has no man than this, that he give up his life for his friend.’ Compassion means taking responsibility for the people and the planet no matter what the cost."

So that’s what he said and this is what I say: Lord help me!!! There just ain’t enough paper to even begin exposing the rot and corruption that oozes from the pages of Mr. DeVos’ book. But to make matters worse it’s not only on the pages of his book but it’s also in his religion... and it’s called Amway!!!... and it’s slowly spreading around the globe.... taking in people from every religion of the world and turning them into a money making machine of Satan. It’s unbelievable what this organization is doing and it just keeps right on getting bigger day by day.

Now you can call Mr. DeVos’ book whatever you would like to call it, but at best I call it a twisted and distorted use of the Word of God for his own personal gain (for more "corporate world" religious corruption see The Toro Corporation Sermonet How Is Mr. Melrose Of Toro And Mr. Moses Of The Bible Alike?). And just to let you in on a secret, my reading of this book was nothing short of me walking through a snakepit filled with the most poisonous evil snakes that have yet to be seen by mankind. Because getting back to the black and white of it (in plain and simple terms), Amway is nothing less than a false religion that uses the Word of God to try and destroy the truth that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. Jesus was God... who became man... so that He could die a perfect sinless death on the cross... thereby setting free from the everlasting fires of Hell all who are willing to believe in His perfect sacrifice !!!

And that my friends is only part I of The Sins Of Amway. So tune in next week, same time and same place, for the rest of the story (see the next sermonet in this series The Religion Of Amway). But until then, tell everyone you know in Amway to turn away from the sins of Amway and escape the fiery wrath of God!!!

"Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy."

Don’t you be tricked into believing Satan’s lies. Read and study your King James Bible, pray for God’s power and divine guidance through the Holy Spirit, and Keep on keeping The Faith In Jesus!!!

Love,

Dad (Bruce Hallman)
